5 FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS Q. How strong are Greenfield’s cardboard coffins? A. All our coffins are extremely strong (a maximum load of 26 stone / 165.108KG is recommended). They have been tested by Intertek, an independent international testing house, to comply with all of the FFMA testing protocol. Yes, they conform to the highest standards required by Funeral Homes, Crematoria and Woodland Burial sites, and most importantly our coffins are fully FFMA accredited. We suggest Biodegradable Calico liners for a burial. Q. Does a cardboard coffin need a Solid Board / Charger Board? A. A board is required to assist the ease of movement on the rollers at the crematorium. Q. Can any colour coffin be printed? A. Yes. We can match any colour. Or choose from the colour chart on pages 153 - 158. Q. Does the coffin require handles? A. Handles are not essential and we advise to check with your Funeral Director. We do recommend having load bearing rope handles if bearing the coffin. Q. Can families submit their own images for a bespoke design? A. Yes, our Design Team can incorporate images and wording for the coffin design. Our studio will work with you to create a design. What would be the best coffin to buy if families want to decorate the coffin? A. More and more families are wanting to decorate the coffin themselves and we would recommend either the Lily White (3697) or the Brown Economy (3712) cardboard coffin or casket. Q. Can I plan ahead in organising my own coffin? A. It isn’t uncommon for people to make arrangements before the needed time. You can leave our details / fact sheet with your next of kin or in your will. Q. How long will the coffin take to be delivered? A. Delivery for a Cardboard coffin is usually three days from order (or confirmation of artwork). Q. Do our coffins come flat packed? A.
